Cthulhu cabin, Alcove #, Sunday afternoon

Hermione's having another really bad day. This would be due to the pile of rubble that is now the school (and don't think that didn't get a freaked out squeak from her), a return to the dorms to drop off her things and wtf, only to find a note from Rikku that reminds her that they're back in cabins. She's been a little distracted. She packs up her things again, despite still not feeling well apart from what can be politely described as the jet lag from hell, and goes to find Cthulhu cabin.

Once there, she puts her things in the empty alcove on her side and makes two phone calls before settling in.

"Oh it's not a problem." said Prue, waving her hand in dismissal. "Turns out I know quite a few people here."

"Really?" she asks. "Like who?"

Not that Hermione knows anything about people you know popping up here.

Prue ran a hand through her hair. "Oh you know. My two nephews, my little sister and her demonic boyfriend. The usual."

Hermione's eyebrows arch up, but her next question is, "Are they all from your reality or timeline?"

"Oh jeez, we're from all over the place!" Prue said. "My youngest sister is now older than me and I'm the same age as one of my nephews."

"Luckily I'm sort of used to this weird stuff." She actually thought she was still the weird one here since, hello, she's dead. "I haven't been too traumatized yet."

"Good. This town seems like it tries very hard to traumatize people sometimes," she says. "Have you heard much about it?"

"Um, no, not really. Do you happen to know why the school seems to be in shambles?" she asked. "Or is it some sort of new-age architecture that I don't get?"

"I have no idea," says Hermione, and her eye might twitch the tiniest bit at that. The poor school. "It was fine when I left, I'm not sure if one of the students got ambitious with a chemistry project or if I missed an invasion."

"Invasions? Do those happen often?" asked Prue. "It's no big deal if they do, I can handle myself. But I'd like to know if I have to start looking under my bed at night."

Hermione sighs a little. "Those are really two separate topics. Feel free to sit," she says, gesturing to the bed.

"There are the bigger invasions, like the trolls, or the mer-people, which sometimes involve people needing to get out their weapons and do some fighting. Luckily the people in Fandom tend to be able to take care of themselves. They don't happen too often, every few months or so, but it's good to be prepared.

"And then there are the things where you might actually need to start looking under your bed, just in case theres an invasion of small, harmless, but sometimes clingy animals waiting there."

Prue sat down on the bed. Her bewildered expression got more and more distinct as Hermione went on. Prue sighed heavily after she had finished.

"Well...at least things won't be boring." she said. "I've been, ah, vanquishing demons with my sisters the last few years. I'm not sure this school can throw anything at me that I can't handle."

"It sounds like a lot, but it's honestly not that bad," Hermione assures her. "You vanquish demons?"

If Prue had been in San Francisco she would hide the fact that she's a witch but this school was definitely not San Francisco.

"Yeah, it's sort of my calling." she said. "My sisters and I are witches."

"Haliwell," she says, finally putting it together. "I can't believe I didn't realize that. It's been a long week."

Prue laughed. "I forgot that everyone here probably knows about my family. We had to hide the whole witch thing back at home."

"I know a little," she says. "More of them than anything. I'm in your sister's workshop."

"I'm in her workshop too. I'm kind of hoping to surprise her." said Prue with a grin. "Are you a witch too?"

Hermione nods. "I think I technically just finished my fifth year at Hogwarts. As far as I've been able to tell, it's a different kind of magic, though."

"How is yours different?" asked Prue.

"I need my wand to do anything practically useful," she says. "There's a lot than can be done with it, though."

Prue nodded. "Ah, I see. My sisters and I are kind of limited with our individual powers."

"Individual powers?" Hermione asks. "What can you do? If you don't mind me asking."

"Telekinesis. I can use my hands and eyes to movie things." explained Prue. "I can also astral project."

Hermione blinks. "Really? I've never known anyone who can do that."

"You really wouldn't think you'd use the astral projection thing a lot but it does come in handy." said Prue, smiling. "The only problem is I can't use my telekinesis when I'm in my astral form."
