Room 308, Saturday afternoon

Hermione had spent too much time cooped up lately, and this was becoming kind of clear to her. She'd gotten through all the books she had now, and was reading Hogwarts, A History again just because, though anytime Crookshanks wandered by her spot on the bed she'd reach out to pet him and then get slightly distracted wondering why he would come over here if the first thing he would do was move somewhere else the second she reached out.

She may have needed a real distraction.

Ron was heading... well nowhere in particular when he stuck his head in the door.

"Are you reading that bloody thing again?"

"You don't actually have any idea how often I read it," she said, not looking up yet, "and it never hurts to reread something to get a new appreciation for it."

"Right," Ron said rolling his eyes. "You've only read it at least once every year since we started going to Hogwarts. At least once. You don't even go to school there any more, what good is it going to do for you?"

She shrugged. "It's good to know," she argued, though honestly there were just times she missed Hogwarts. "And the information in this book came in handy enough times, I don't see why you feel the need to complain about it so much."

"I'm just shocked you haven't memorized it already," Ron said rolling his eyes. "So what's new with you?"

"Nothing, really. I've just kept to myself lately, mainly," she said. "What about you? Have you been doing anything exciting?"

"Mostly wondering why my professors here are completely mental," Ron said shaking his head. "I'm never complaining about that one professor only wearing pajamas again."

"Professor Deadpool?" she guessed. "What happened?"

"There was a miniskirt..." Ron said and winced. "I'd rather not rehash the visual image."

Hermione blinked. And blinked again. "I think I have one now."

"Then I won't tell you about his skin condition," Ron said massaging his temples. "Honestly? I miss Snape. A little."

That led to another blink of surprise, especially given how much Rikku seemed to like him. "It's really that bad?"

"Well at least Snape wouldn't try to make us dance on a stripper pole," Ron grumbled. "I'm still wondering what that has to do with being a feminist."

"...Stri- What?"

That, also, was a mental image.

"Please don't make me repeat that," Ron whined. "I never thought a muggle education would be this difficult. I though it just be math and reading stuff."

"It can be, depending on which classes you take," she said. "I have Math and Government and it's very normal. Why did you even take Feminism?"

"I got here too late to sign up for classes," Ron said glumly. "So I got randomly assigned to that and... that other class."

"Next semester will be better," she promised. Really, really quickly, trying to gloss over that other class.

Ron sighed and then shrugged. "Well on the plus side we haven't had to dodge curses, jinxes or insults from Malfoy."
