Room 308, Thursday night
May. 11th, 2006 08:45 pmHermione's up late, sitting at her desk with the light on. She's finally decided to start tackling the letters she's been avoiding.
Dear Harry,
I'm not sure exactly what happened, but it's very strange here. Somehow I'm not going to classes yet because it is May here. Not only is it May, but it is May of 2006. There will be workshops over the summer, but I'm hoping to be able to take more. I've already gotten a pass to go into Special Collections in the library. Rory says it will probably be open next week, which is good, since I met a girl named Willow who seemed upset about that as well. Alanna and Cameron and Dawn seem nice enough. I think I'll avoid Jaye altogether, though.
It's strange here, but not. Apparently Special Collections eats people, there is a professor in a blue suit that had a pet dragon, there are gremlins that bite people... It seems a lot like Hogwarts, actually. This may be because I've seen some familiar faces here. Rita Skeeter just left, and she is as horrible as ever, Draco Malfoy is somehow older than me and dated a Muggle-born witch, and in what seems to be a quirk of Fandom, Cedric Diggory is a student here. He says that Dumbledore sent him here, and has no idea what happened. I don't think I should tell him, and I won't ask for advice because you have enough to worry about. I just thought you should know.
I meant what I said in the letter I am sending along this one. I want to hear everything. I miss all of you. Well, maybe not the ones I see here. Also, while I remember, Kaylee, my roommate, seems to be with me on the house elf situation. Expect to receive clothing for them.
Love from,
Hermione
With that done, Hermione gets to work on a second letter. One to the Ministry of Magic. If Rita Skeeter was allowed a wand, she's much more responsible with one.
