Room 308, Sunday night

Hermione's done with the DADA book. She's read it more than once, she's disgusted by it, and she thinks she's going to have to talk to Ron and Harry again soon before she starts all of her new classes. And even the thought of new classes is exciting for her.

Once she's hidden the book away in a desk drawer and looks over at Crookshanks to make sure he's still all right on her bed, she sits down at the desk and starts a letter.


Dear Viktor,

I was very pleased to get your last letter. I'm so glad to hear you're doing all right. I also fully expect you to tell me more about certain things the next time I see you. No, I don't know when that is yet.

School starts tomorrow, and I am looking forward to it very much. We have a lot of new students now, and I'm slowly trying to meet them. Yes, I have been social, not to worry. I've also met a few people that have been here that I somehow missed. I'm starting to meet some very strange people, and that's saying something. Some of us made a trek up to the sixth floor the other day, which has been known to give people some very strange adventures, and we discovered a girl. She was in bad shape at the time, but seems to be all right now. I think I've mentioned that I go to a very interesting school.

I have been in contact with Ron and Harry, and they both say hello. I'm also trying to perfect my technique before starting the house elf knitting drive. Also because it has been omg BUSY here. Among my classes, which I really wish I could have taken more of and I would appreciate if you kept your comments to yourself, I'm also planning on keeping up with the classes I would be taking at Hogwarts this year, in case I can convince Dumbledore and the Ministry to allow me to take my O.W.L.'s with the rest of the fifth years. Wish me luck.

I'm going to end this at a reasonably short length for once. I'm sure you're glad for that. Hope to hear from you again soon.
